MINISTRIES

lifegroups-01.jpg

LIFE means Living In Faith Every day! Our LIFE Groups are small, weekly gatherings where we grow together, learn together, and serve together. Currently, we have groups meeting almost every day of the week, so this is a great place to get connected.  LIFE is better with Jesus and the encouragement of others in a LIFE Group!

The month-long summer program runs Monday through Friday, 5 hours a day and provides a curriculum that includes academics modified to each child's individual level, field trips for motivation and reinforcement of skills, organized outdoor activities for gross motor and team development, arts and crafts for fine motor skills, music therapy, speech therapy, and daily work in a computer lab.

GriefShare is all new this year!! So even if you have come before feel free to join us once again. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. No one has to go through the grieving process alone. This 12 week video-based study is offered twice a year and is open to the community.

We offer a monthly free food pantry typically held on the fourth Thursday of the month from 1:00-2:30pm to the residents of our neighborhood. Guests must bring a proper form of identification. A meal is provided for our guests on that day as well.

We offer a monthly clothing sale, typically held on the third Friday of the month from 10am -12pm. Our Family Life Center is filled with clothing and other items. Guests fill the provided bag for 50 cents each. A free meal is offered and our Parish Nurses are present to offer their services. Donations of clothing will be accepted at the church during regular office hours, Monday-Friday, 9am -1pm.

Exercise groups are offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm to help our bodies keep in shape with our souls! Whether you're a fitness fanatic or just starting out, you'll find there is a place for you along this journey.

Lighthouse UMC offers plenty of opportunities to exercise your musical gifts! Our praise band, vocal choir, bell choir, and brass ensemble are always looking for new talent to welcome into their ministries! Our vocal choir and praise band currently rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7pm and our bell choir currently rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.

Parish      Nurses

Our Parish Nurses are available at many gatherings throughout the year to offer free medical services and screenings to our church members and community. Please contact the church office if you are interested in volunteering!

All people are deeply valued at Lighthouse UMC! When our members have given their lives to Christ and to the church, and when health, age, and other factors prevent them from coming to us, we go to them! Our visitation team work with our pastors to assure that all the church is cared for.

This faithful group knits together prayer shawls for the varying seasons of life, celebrations and difficulties. Each shawl carries with it the prayers of the church and a reminder that we are wrapped in the love of God!

Lighthouse UMC is proud to sponsor pilgrims on the Walk to Emmaus every year. The objective of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip the local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities, and places of work.  Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to be lived and shared with others.
